ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Donnie Jones will host several youth basketball camps this summer, offering youngsters the opportunity to learn from the head coach and his staff. The camps provide opportunities for children of all ages and ability levels to improve their basketball skills in a fun, positive atmosphere.
All of the camps, which are held inside the UCF Practice Facility and the UCF Arena, include instruction from Jones, members of the Knights' coaching staff as well as UCF players. Individual Day Camp: June 24-28
? For grades 1-12
? Emphasis on developing the basic fundamentals of basketball - shooting, dribbling, passing and defense
? Includes instruction, drills, contests and 5-on-5 games
? Players are grouped according to age, height and ability level
? Campers receive lunch daily, camp t-shirt and a basketball
Team Camp: June 28-30
? For high school and AAU teams (9th-12th grades)
? Each team is guaranteed three games per day
? All games are officiated by certified referees
? Tournament-style format each day
? All teams receive 12 UCF basketball t-shirts
? Coaches social Saturday evening
Little Knights Camp: July 15-19
? For grades 1-6
? Emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship
? Campers receive lunch daily, camp t-shirt and a basketball
Drills 4 Skills Camp: August 24
? For grades 9-12
? For high school players who are serious about improving their basketball skills
? Emphasis on highly individualized skill instruction
