ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will conclude the regular season with a pair of matches against No. 45 Middle Tennessee and USF at the UCF Tennis Complex. On Friday, the Knights will take on MT at 2 p.m. for Student Day and USF Sunday at 10 a.m. on USTA Campus Kids' Day.
"Our team needs to use these two matches to get back on track and prepare us for the conference championship in Memphis," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said.
As part of Friday's festivities, free pizza will be available for the first 50 students in attendance. T-shirt tosses and other promotional giveaways will be provided as well.
For those in attendance Sunday, a clinic with the players will take place after the match. Other activities, which include a bounce house, games, free popcorn, rally towels and autographs begin around noon.
The Knights are 10-7 this season and will return to the courts for the first time in almost two weeks after rain caused their third cancellation of the year last Thursday.
"Middle Tennessee is tough and to beat them we are going have to play flawless tennis," Cashman added. "We cannot afford to start slow and let crucial points slip away."
UCF is still looking to knock-off its first nationally ranked opponent of the year after six of its defeats have been to ranked squads. The Knights will have their hands full in doubles action against the Blue Raiders when they play Ben Davis and Victor Cornea, the No. 62 duo in the nation.
Winners of six-straight, Middle Tennessee has accumulated a 17-6 record on the season. The Knights were victorious once in three tries versus the Blue Raiders in the past.
USF travels to Orlando with an 8-8 record after defeating SMU, 4-3, Sunday. The Bulls will compete against the Blue Raiders Saturday before facing off with the Knights on Sunday. UCF last defeated USF, 4-3, in 2010.
These two contests conclude the regular season for the Knights. UCF will then travel to Memphis, Tenn., for the Conference USA Championship April 18-21.
