DELAND, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Closing out the regular season road schedule, the UCF women's tennis team topped Stetson in DeLand Wednesday, 4-3. In the victory, Genevieve Lorbergs and Josephine Haraldson earned their 20th doubles win of 2012-13, moving one shy of tying the UCF single-season record.

The Knights pushed their dual-match record to 13-6 this year, marking their most victories since the 2009-10 team had 13. The last time UCF produced at least 14 wins was when it went 19-6 in 1999-00.

All three doubles matches were tightly contested vs. Stetson (9-9), with neither school wanting to give in. At No. 2, Courtney Griffith and Caroline Eberhart were the first to finish when they topped Sara Lazarevic and MayaBlue Stauffer MacDowell, 8-6. Although the Hatters earned a win at No. 3, UCF's top pair pulled out another victory when Lorbergs and Haraldson eased by Diana Bukajeva and Jen Miller, 9-7.

By clinching the doubles point for the Knights, Lorbergs and Haraldson now hold a 20-9 mark in 2012-13. The UCF single-season doubles record for victories stands at 21 by Hadas Ronen and Itzel Soto-Rosa in 1996-97 as well as Gaelle Gouttefarde and Veronica Widyadharma in 1998-99.

When singles began, Stetson tied it at 1-1 with a win at No. 2, however at No. 3, Haraldson won the first set against Lindsey Cable before the Hatter was forced to retire. The home team retied it by taking the point at No. 6 only to witness UCF put an end to the comeback with two-straight victories for the third and fourth points of the day.

At No. 4 singles, Eberhart came through with a 6-4, 6-4 decision versus Miller. It was the freshman's 24th triumph in 2012-13, pushing her up to a tie for fourth on the all-time single-season list (record is 28). Wrapping up the day, Lorbergs inched past Lazarevic at No. 1, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. Lorbergs along with Haraldson each now have 20 singles victories this season.

Up next for the Knights will be the regular-season finale against No. 25 Notre Dame Saturday at 2 p.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex.
