ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Keith Clanton's collegiate career may be over, but the forward is still receiving support from the UCF coaching staff. When Clanton begins his post-UCF playing career Wednesday at the Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia, he will be joined by UCF head coach Donnie Jones and assistant coach Brendan Suhr.
Clanton, the program's all-time leader in rebounds, blocks, games and starts, is one of 64 seniors scheduled to participate in the P.I.T. Representatives from every NBA team will be in attendance at the four-day tournament.
"It will be great to be up in Portsmouth supporting Keith as he pursues his dream to play on the next level," Jones said. "Keith is well deserving of the invitation to the tournament and this is such an exciting time for him and his family as he starts his professional career."
Jones said that he plans to talk to NBA executives about Clanton and also provide the Orlando native with feedback after his first game.
"Keith was one of the best players to ever play at UCF and has done so much for our program and our school. The Portsmouth Invitational is a great event and a great platform for Keith to gain more exposure on the professional level and I am happy that we can be there with him," Jones said.
