ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After hosting 22 of its first 29 games of the season, the UCF baseball team will begin its longest road trip of the year Tuesday in Gainesville when it finishes the season series with Florida at 7 p.m. from McKethan Stadium.
Tuesday night's in-state showdown will be televised on Fox Sport Florida, and can also be heard on the airwaves in Central Florida on 740-AM The Game. Marc Daniels will be on the call with pregame beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Looking to give the Knights (18-11) their second win in three trips to Florida will be LHP Eric Skoglund. The 6-foot-7 Sarasota native will have his eye on win No. 2 after tossing eight shutout frames against Columbia on March 18 in his last start.
The last time the two teams met on Feb. 19, the Gators (13-16) held on for a 5-3 win in front of a record crowd of 3,678 fans at the UCF baseball complex. After UF went up 5-0, the Knights put together three runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn't complete the comeback.
After the trip to Gainesville, UCF will head to Memphis for a three-game set in Conference USA play. The Knights will look to improve upon their 4-2 record in the league.
