ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Riding a three-game winning streak, the UCF softball team will look to keep its momentum as it hits the road for a midweek contest with in-state rival FIU at the FIU Softball Complex on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
The Knights enter the game at an even 21-21 on the season, but dropped their last Wednesday game, 2-1, to No. 3 Florida. UCF fans follow all of the action on UCFAthletics.com's Gametracker as well as www.twitter.com/UCF_Softball.
UCF is 3-3 all-time against FIU, but has not played the Panthers since matching up with them twice in the 2010 NCAA Regionals. This is the Knights' first trip to Miami since March 26, 2008; a matchup UCF won 9-5.
At the plate, the Panthers are led by senior infielder Amber Curry. The Pittsburg, California native leads the Panthers with a .338 batting average in 31 games played. In the circle, FIU will feature freshman hurler Cor Jenkins. Jenkins leads her team in innings pitched (105.1), ERA (3.12), wins (12) and strikeouts (90).
The Black and Gold have three home games remaining at the UCF Softball Complex, with single game tickets are available for purchase online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) UCF-1000.
