ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team will look to get back to its winning ways as it hits the road for a midweek clash with No. 3 Florida at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
The Knights enter the game at 18-20 on the season, but have dropped their last six contests. UCF fans can listen to all the action live on UCF All-Access with Eric Lopez on the call. Fans can also follow all of the action on UCFAthletics.com's Gametracker as well as www.twitter.com/UCF_Softball.
UCF is 3-12 all-time against Florida, but earned a dramatic 2-0 victory over the Gators last season at the UCF Softball Complex. Sophomore Mackenzie Audas was dominant as she allowed just two hits and three walks in seven scoreless innings to go along with 11 strikeouts. Fellow sophomore Farrah Sullivan provided all the offense with a two-run double in the first inning.
In the circle, the Gators are led by star junior hurler, Hannah Rogers. Rogers ranks fourth in the country with her 20 wins in the circle (20-2), ninth with six shutouts and checks in 12th in ERA (1.12). Sophomore Lauren Haeger has been a force at the place, as her 12 home runs this season place her 16th in the country.
The Black and Gold have six home games remaining at the UCF Softball Complex, with season tickets for the remainder of the 2013 season costing only $30.
