UCF Softball Heads to West to Take on No. 18 Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team continues Conference USA action on the road with a three-game series this weekend against No. 18 Tulsa on Friday and Saturday at Collins Family Softball Complex. The Black and Gold are kicking off a four-game road trip and look to gain ground in the league standings.

The Knights (18-17, 1-8 C-USA) will play the Golden Hurricane (26-7-1, 6-0) in a Friday doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. ET. On Saturday, UCF will close the series with a nationally-televised broadcast at 11:30 a.m. The game can be found on Fox Sports Networks with Bruce Howard and Tracy Warren on the call.

Tulsa has proven itself to be the class of the league as it has the top hitting as well as the top pitching team in the league. The Golden Hurricane lead the conference in ten major categories including batting average (.292), runs (175), hits (270), RBI (158) and ERA (1.92). The Knights come into the contest leading the league with 83 stolen bases, while holding the fourth ranked pitching staff.

Last season, Tulsa took two of three from the Knights at the UCF Softball Complex to open league play. The 2012 C-USA Freshman and Co-Pitcher of the Year, Mackenzie Audas, twirled a one-hitter in UCF's only victory. The pitcher Audas shared the award with, Lacey Middlebrooks, earned one of Tulsa's two victories with 2011 C-USA Freshman of the Year, Aimee Creger taking the other contest.
