ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF track and field team will host the first of two home meets this year when the Knights open the outdoor season Saturday at the UCF track and field complex. The UCF Black and Gold Challenge will feature a field of six women's teams: UCF, Michigan, Miami (OH), St. John's, FIU and Jacksonville.

The javelin will kick off the field events at 9 a.m., and the 4x100 relay will mark the start of the track events at 1:30 p.m.

UCF's meet central page is the place to find information pertaining to the day-long event, including parking, directions, heat sheets, results and a full schedule. Admission is free to the public.

The Knights will take their first step toward duplicating the remarkable success the team had during the indoor season. UCF achieved its highest team finish in program history at the national championships (5th place) and witnessed Aurieyall Scott become the university's first NCAA champion (60 meters).

For the first time, live results from the meet are expected to be available and can be accessed through halfmiletiming.com.
