HOUSTON, Texas. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team hits the road for its first Conference USA road action of the 2013 season. The Knights begin a three-game series this weekend against Houston on Saturday and Sunday at Cougar Softball Stadium. UCF is looking to bounce back after a difficult opening weekend of league play that saw them drop three contests.

The Knights (15-12, 0-3 C-USA) will play the Cougars (14-7, 3-0) in a Saturday doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. ET. On Sunday, the series will close with one game at 1:00 p.m. Last season, UCF swept a three-game set over Houston on Senior Weekend at the UCF Softball Complex, but was eliminated from the C-USA tournament by the Cougars.

UCF fans can follow all of the weekend's action on UCF All-Access with live audio and the voice of UCF softball, Eric Lopez. Fans can also follow all three contests on UCFAthletics.com Gametracker as well as in-game updates on our official Twitter account www.twitter.com/UCF_Softball.

Houston comes into the weekend with the second-ranked offense in the conference as it is hitting .278 as a team with 98 runs scored. The Cougars are led by 2012 All-American catcher Haley Outon, who leads the team with five home runs and 15 RBI. Senior Holly Anderson has also proven to be a tough out at the plate as she holds a .418 batting average.

The Knights will counter Houston's explosive offense with a speed-based attack. Sophomore Kahley Novak leads C-USA with 23 stolen bases, while sophomore Maddy Schroeder and senior Lauren Aldridge have chipped in 13 and 11 apiece. UCF's 73 steals are more than triple Houston's current total of 21.

The Black and Gold have 12 home games remaining at the UCF Softball Complex, with season tickets for the remainder of the 2013 season costing only $30. Single game and season tickets are available for purchase online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) UCF-1000.
