ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following a rainout Tuesday against Army, the UCF men's tennis team aims for its third-straight victory when it faces Marquette Friday. First serve is at 2 p.m. and admission is free at the UCF Tennis Complex.
The Knights are 8-6 on the year after dominating Cleveland State, 6-1, at home on Sunday. The squad has been impressive at home this season, possessing a 5-1 record at the UCF Tennis Complex.
Senior Jorge Blasco has been dominating the competition as of late, winning six matches in a row with an unblemished mark on his record since Feb. 15.
"After Tuesday's rainout, our squad needs to stay focused on the task at hand and prepare mentally for Marquette," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said.
Marquette comes into Orlando with an identical 8-6 record after handling Lehigh, 6-1, Wednesday afternoon. Despite the eight victories, the Golden Eagles have not won a match away from home all season.
The Knights are 4-3 all-time against the Golden Eagles, last winning, 5-2, in 1998.
After Tuesday's rainout against Army, UCF has seven home matches before the Conference USA Championship in mid-April.
