ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Fresh off a successful home tournament, the UCF softball team is ready for a very busy, six-game week beginning with a round robin tournament that runs Tuesday and Wednesday at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Knights begin play with a Tuesday contest at 5:30 p.m. against SIU Edwardsville. The round robin event concludes with a Wednesday doubleheader against Boston College at 3 p.m. and No. 14 Michigan at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Knights host SIU Edwardsville, who enters the contest with a 6-5 record. Shortstop Chelsea Yankolovich is the team's leading hitter with a .342 batting average followed by third baseman Alex McDavid at .323. The three members of the SIUE pitching staff have held opponents to a .213 batting average. Erin Greenwalt has the lowest earned run average at 1.47 while Haley Chambers leads the team in strikeouts with 39 and Amanda Lambrecht holds a perfect 2-0 record.
UCF returns to action Wednesday against Boston College and No. 14 Michigan. B.C. recently played in the ESPN Citrus Classic in Kissimmee, where it struggled, losing four out of five. The Eagles come into round robin play with a 4-6 mark overall and are led by freshman outfielder Megan Cooley who is hitting .438 with 12 runs scored.
The final game of the midweek for the Black and Gold comes against Michigan. The Wolverines are 13-5 and have played all 18 of their games in the state of Florida thus far this season, including matching UCF's 4-1 mark in the NFCA Lead-Off Classic in Clearwater. The Maize and Blue are led by star sophomore pitcher Sara Driesenga who has started 17 of 18 contests and holds a 1.37 ERA with 100 strikeouts in 97.1 innings pitched.
