ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a thrilling victory earlier in the week, the UCF men's basketball team will return to the hardwood Saturday when it hosts East Carolina. Tipoff at the UCF Arena is 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Knights' (16-6, 6-2) used some big defensive stops to snap Southern Miss' 10-game winning streak in a 60-58 victory.
Tristan Spurlock scored a game-high 18 points and Keith Clanton blocked seven shots, including a game-winning 3-point attempt with four seconds remaining. The senior needs only one board to become UCF's lone all-time leader in career rebounds. He has 942 boards as a Knight and is tied with Ken Leeks (1988-92) for the top spot.
UCF has won five of its last six games and has claimed five-straight victories at home.
The UCF Arena box office will be open for ticket sales prior to the game. UCF students are admitted free with a school ID.
The Pirates are 13-8 overall and 4-4 in league play. Maurice Kemp is averaging 17.9 points to pace C-USA.
