Two Home Matches in Store for UCF Women's Tennis Team

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's tennis team kicks off an eventful weekend when it hosts Troy Friday at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, Saturday's match against Furman will be Youth Tennis Team Day at the UCF Tennis Complex and it all begins at noon.

Admission to all home matches is free and open to the public.

UCF boasts a 3-1 record with all three victories coming in 7-0 decisions. Clare Mendell is 7-2 in her last nine singles decisions, and Caroline Eberhart and Josephine Haraldson have 11 wins each to their credit. Jenna Doerfler, Genevieve Lorbergs and Mendell need one more victory to reach double-figures.

With a 2-1 record, Troy is coming off wins over Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State. It has a combined 43-49 singles record with Anja Cosovic pacing the team with a 10-6 mark. Over in doubles, it stands at 18-22 in 2012-13.

Furman is 1-1 on the year and is led by Lauren Kline who ranks No. 68 in the nation on the singles court. The Paladins participated in the UCF Invitational Jan. 19-21, and took two of three doubles matches vs. UCF but the Knights went 5-2 in singles. That included Lorbergs getting past Kline, 7-6, 7-5.

The Knights hold an 8-1 mark in the all-time series against Troy, and a 0-2 record vs. Furman.
