UCF Men's Tennis Travels to Jacksonville to Compete against North Florida

Feb. 28, 2013

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Riding a season-high three-match winning-streak, the UCF men's tennis team will travel to Jacksonville to compete against North Florida Friday at 2 p.m. The match will take place at the recently renovated UNF Tennis Complex located on campus.

Following Sunday's 4-3 comeback victory at Georgia Southern, the Knights moved to 6-4 on the season and have won five of their last six contests.

UCF aims to improve on its 3-3 record against UNF during head coach Bobby Cashman's tenure, last winning 4-3 at UNF in 2010.

The Knights will have their hands full during doubles action, facing Moritz Buerchner and Norbert Nemcsek, the No. 10 duo in the nation.

"Against a team like UNF, we need to start fast by winning the doubles point and finish strong," Cashman said. "If we do execute early, our team will be difficult to beat down the stretch."

Despite defeating No. 54 Miami 5-2 Sunday, the Ospreys (3-6) dropped from their No. 62 ranking last week due to back-to-back 1-6 losses against No. 65 Georgia Tech and No. 20 Baylor.

After Saturday's rainout against East Carolina, UCF's road stand was cut to four matches, with two contests in California next week before the Knights return home.
