ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Ricardo Gouveia has earned his third career Conference USA Golfer of the Week award.
Gouveia finished third in the John Hayt Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club earlier this week. He led the Knights to an overall third-place finish as well. Gouveia was one of 10 golfers in the field to shoot even par or better for both rounds (68-72). Gouveia recorded just two bogeys during his two rounds, compared with four birdies and an eagle on the 536-yard, par-5 eighth hole.
Gouveia's 68 in the first round was his low round for the season. This was his third top-10 finish of the year and matched his best finish for the season. The tournament included a total of 87 participants, 16 ranked golfers and 11 ranked teams.
The weekly honor is the first this season for Gouveia and the third for the Knights.
