ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Former UCF assistant coach Arturo Rivera was named the top assistant at Harvard. Rivera served as volunteer assistant in the 2008-2009 season and as an interim assistant in 2012.
"I'm very proud of Arturo, he has been very patient and deliberate in his effort to find the right professional fit," UCF head coach Todd Dagenais said. "Harvard is getting a very hardworking and passionate coach who is an outstanding trainer in the gym."
An Orlando, Fla., native, Rivera attended Timber Creek High School where he lettered in volleyball, football, basketball and track and field. Following high school, Rivera played volleyball at Ball State for one year before transfering to UCF and spending three years with UCF men's volleyball club team. After a successful playing career, Rivera transitioned into coaching and began at UNLV as an assistant coach. He was also was the Runnin' Rebels men's club head coach in the spring of 2011.
Rivera is expected to begin in his new position in May.
