ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's basketball's Isaiah Sykes is knocking on the 1,000-point club's door and with five regular season games left and just 56 points needed, the guard has a good chance of joining the elite group. Only 16 UCF players are in the 1,000-point club, the most recent being Keith Clanton and Marcus Jordan, who both joined during the 2011-12 season.
Sykes is having a phenomenal year, starting in all 26 games with a 15.8 scoring average and 410 points on the season. The junior from Michigan still has a year left to play in college, and will continue to rack up the points for UCF.
In Wednesday night's game against Marshall, Sykes led the team, recording 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals.
UCF will play at home again on Saturday when it hosts Tulsa at 4 p.m.
