ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After more than 4,600 fans packed the UCF baseball complex this past weekend, the atmosphere is set to get turned up a notch when No. 17 Florida takes on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Seating will be limited as the last time the two teams met in Orlando the single-game attendance record was shattered. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance through UCFAthletics.com, or by calling 407-UCF-1000.
There will be plenty of promotions for fans to partake in prior to and during the game Tuesday night. The first 200 students to exchange UF gear will receive new Knightmare t-shirts, while the first 500 supporters to enter the park will be handed a UCF `Finish' rally towel. Fans also won't want to miss meeting the 2013 Diamond Girls.
Setting the Stage
Both teams come into the contest with 2-1 records, with the Gators taking two-of-three from Duke last weekend. Dating back to 2010, the series is knotted at 2-all with the Knights sweeping the home-and-home set in 2011.
On the mound for UCF will be veteran lefty Brian Adkins. The hometown senior will be making his second-career start against UF as he tossed four innings as a freshman in Gainesville in 2010. He will be opposed by junior RHP Keenan Kish who tossed a scoreless 1 1/3 against the Blue Devils.
In the series win over Siena, senior Chris Taladay and sophomore JoMarcos Woods started the 2013 campaign with a bang, each notching seven hits apiece with Taladay driving in four runs. The Knights are hitting .286 overall heading into Tuesday.
