ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The final two parts of UCFAthletics.com's season preview of the 2013 UCF baseball team focuses on the pitching staff and the loads of talent that are featured from both lefties and righties.
-RS Sr. Chris Matulis - Went 7-0 in his first year on the mound as a Knight. Has the ability to start or be an integral key to bullpen.
-Sr. Brian Adkins - Been a workhorse for the Knights in his previous three seasons, totaling 213 innings pitched in 53-career appearances
-Sr. Jimmy Reed - Made 20 appearances for the Knights in 2012, and was lights out against lefties, limiting them to a .115 batting average.
-So. Harrison Hukari - Compiled a 1.00 ERA in nine appearances in 2012, and looks to carve out a larger role in 2013.
-So. Eric Skoglund - Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American that will be counted on heavily in 2013.
-So. JoMarcos Woods - Has spent the fall and early spring in CF for the Knights. Came on strong in C-USA play a year ago and appeared in 44 games as a rookie.
-Fr. Alex Milne - Rookie from Tampa Gaither that was a member of three district and regional quarterfinal championship teams.
-Fr. Hunter Wildes - Lefty that gives the Knights another option as a two-way player that can field and pitch.
-Sr. Shawn McDorman - Former walk-on who adds depth to an already deep bullpen.
-RS Jr. Gregg Cooke - Submarine-style specialist who made five appearances out of the pen in 2012
-Jr. Danny Davis - Transfer from Pensacola State College can start or come out of the bullpen for the Knights
-Jr. Ben Lively - Front-line starter that made an impressive jump from freshman to sophomore season. Will look to do the same in 2013.
-RS So. Spencer Davis - JC transfer from Texas that could slide into Roman Madrid's role from a year ago in the back-end of the bullpen.
-RS Fr. Ryan Meyer - Local product from Oviedo that redshirted 2012 due to an elbow injury.
-Fr. Zac Favre - Rookie from Jacksonville that has put together a nice fall and spring in hopes of contributing out of the gates.
-Fr. Tyler Martin - A teammate of Favre's in high school, could be another option from the right side as a starter.
-Fr. Jarrod Petree - Local product from Apopka that can play the middle infield and pitch.
