ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team returns to the road for the third time in 10 days to face East Carolina at 1 p.m. Sunday. UCF (7-13, 1-5) is looking for its first win in Greenville since beginning the series with East Carolina (14-5, 4-2) in 2006.
Freshman Briahanna Jackson is coming off her first double-double and her fifth 20-point performance of the season. Jackson currently leads all rookies in the league in scoring with 15.1 points per game.
Sophomore Stephanie Taylor and junior Kiana Morton will return to their home state of North Carolina. Taylor was a three-time all-conference player for Sun Valley High School about 20 miles outside of Charlotte. Morton was a tri-sport athlete at Webb High School (north of Durham) as a member of the basketball, volleyball and track teams.
Forward Erika Jones grabbed 20 rebounds against the Pirates in their first meeting last season for the fifth-best single-game rebounding performance in school history.
East Carolina (14-5, 4-2) is riding a three-game win streak and boasts a 9-1 record at home this year. The team leads the conference in steals (13.1 per game) and turnover margin (+6.6).
Twin sisters Whitny and Britny are leading the Pirates with nearly identical averages of 11.5 and 11.3 points per game, respectively. Britny also claims a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game, which ranks second among leaders in Conference USA.
