ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - As part of Jackson Heights Middle School's Spirit Day, members of the UCF football team traveled up the road to Oviedo to participate in the special occasion Wednesday.
Meeting with children in grades six through eight, Blake Bortles, Joey Grant, Victor Gray and Torrian Wilson all ate lunch, danced, answered questions and helped mentor the students as well.
UCF most recently ventured to Jackson Heights in May 2012. Among those Knights who participated that day was Bortles, who attended the school while growing up in Oviedo.
The journey to Jackson Heights kicks off what will assuredly be another memorable year across the Orlando area for the Knights. Some of the highlights of the 2012 season featured UCF traveling to the Nemours Children's Hospital, Sunrise Elementary School and the UCF Creative School for Children, while it also met fifth graders from East Lake Elementary.
Plan your gamedays with the Knights, and experience the inaugural BIG EAST campaign in the best available seat locations at Bright House Networks Stadium. To secure your 2013 season tickets, place a deposit for just $50 online by visiting UCFAthletics.com or by calling 407-UCF-1000.
