ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 10 UCF track and field team has another full schedule this weekend when the squad splits between the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., and the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville.
The Knights look to build on the momentum from their fast start to the season. They have already posted and improved upon eight marks that rank among the NCAA's top 15. Moreover, UCF, which jumped into the nation's top 10 earlier this week, is ranked No. 1 in the USTFCCCA South Region ahead of No. 7 Florida, Florida State, Miami, USF and No. 25 Auburn.
The Hokie Invitational will start Friday night at 5 p.m. at Rector Fieldhouse with the triple jump, pole vault and 3000 meters. UCF will compete against 10 other teams, including No. 20 South Carolina, N.C. State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Action picks back up Saturday at noon with the high jump and 5,000-meter run.
Live scoring for the meet is available via Flash Results.
On Sunday, UCF returns to Gainesville for the second-straight week to compete at the sixth-annual Jimmy Carnes Invitational at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. The long jump, shot put, and high jump will jumpstart the meet at 10 a.m. Results can be found on halfmiletiming.com.
