ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After its thrilling overtime win over the weekend, the UCF men's basketball team is back home to host Rice Wednesday. The Conference USA contest at the UCF Arena begins at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, UCF improved to 12-5 overall and 2-1 in league play when it defeated host Houston, 79-75, in overtime. UCF nearly won the game on a buzzer beater from Tristan Spurlock at the end of regulation, and then dominated the Cougars in the extra session. Isaiah Sykes scored 22 points and grabbed nine boards in the win, Keith Clanton totaled 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks and Calvin Newell added 15 points.

The Knights, who are averaging a league-high 76.0 points in conference play, have played two-consecutive overtime games. Clanton, who is averaging a league-best 22.3 points in conference contests, enters the game against Rice needing two blocks to become just the 10th player in C-USA history to record at least 200 career swats.

On Wednesday, the UCF Arena box office will be open prior to the game. The Knights have seven league home games remaining and the Conference USA Ticket Pack includes admission to each conference contest, including the March 2 showdown with Memphis. For more information on the ticket package, call (407) UCF-1000.

UCF students are admitted free with a valid school ID. UCF Athletics is seeking the Knightmare Fan of the Year and will be giving away an iPad as well as Busch Gardens tickets. Students who register to win the iPad will be entered to win $1,000 at the end of the season.

The Knights will be playing at home for the first time since Jan. 9 when a loud crowd supported the team in a win over UAB.

"Our guys are excited to be back home," UCF head coach Donnie Jones said. "We really appreciate the support and our guys really thrive off the great fans and our wonderful student section."

Rice (4-13, 0-3) recorded a 95-71 non-league win over New Orleans Saturday. The Owls are led by Tamir Jackson, who is averaging 16.6 points.

The contest will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game. Pregame coverage with Marc Daniels and Taylor Young starts at 6:30 p.m.

Live video and statistics will be available at UCFAthletics.com. The contest is the first of two straight at home for the Knights, who also host SMU Saturday.
