ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will play its third straight match away from home to start the season when the squad travels to Gainesville to dual against No. 12 Florida.
The contest is set for Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex with doubles action followed by singles play.
The Knights look to improve on their 1-1 record after splitting with Florida State and Florida A&M last Saturday in Tallahassee.
At the No. 1 spot, senior Jorge Blasco will take on Florent Diep, the No. 26 ranked singles player in the nation.
UCF will have its hands full against the Gators, competing against two more top-ranked players, No. 51 Bob Van Overbeek and No. 118 Gordon Watson.
"This will be a great way to evaluate our team early in the season and see where we are as a unit," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "Competing against the No. 12 team in the nation, with three of the top-ranked players, should help our players grow and learn as the season continues."
