ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., Saturday to open the spring season, competing in two of their 23 matches during the regular season. The Knights will return to familiar territory, where four members of the team participated during the fall at the ITA Regionals.
The Knights' first opponent of the new year will come against familiar foe Florida State. The match will begin at 10 a.m. in the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Soon after, UCF will take a short bus ride to take on another in-state rival, Florida A&M. The contest will take place at 3 p.m. in the Rattler Tennis Center.
"We worked hard in the weight room and on the court during the fall preparing for this season," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "I feel the team is ready and needs to execute what we practiced to be successful."
The Knights competed in five events during the fall tournament season. The Black and Gold squad is led by senior Jorge Blasco, who defeated FSU's Andres Bucaro, the No. 8 singles player at the Bedford Cup.
