ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a dominant defensive performance in its league opener earlier this week, the UCF men's basketball team will seek Conference USA road success at East Carolina Saturday. The contest at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum in Greenville, N.C., will start at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, UCF (11-4, 1-0 C-USA) forced UAB to miss all 23 of its 3-point field goal attempts as the Knights rolled to a 64-48 victory at the UCF Arena. The Blazers entered the contest having made a 3-pointer in 538 games dating back to 1996.

The Knights, who lead C-USA and rank 14th nationally in field goal percentage at 49.2, have received balanced scoring in their recent contests. Calvin Newell led the squad with 14 points against UAB and Tristan Spurlock added 12 points in the victory.

Saturday's contest will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game in Orlando. Marc Daniels will have the call and pregame coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. Live video, audio and statistics will be available at UCFAthletics.com.

When UCF faces the Pirates (9-5, 0-1) it will be playing on the road for the first time since Dec. 14. East Carolina is 8-1 at home this season.

The Knights' next home game is Jan. 23 against Rice.
