ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After starring for the UCF men's soccer team in 2012, Deshorn Brown has signed a Generation adidas contract with Major League Soccer and is now eligible for the MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 17. The Generation adidas program supports early entry of select players into the MLS and includes a guaranteed contract.

Brown is the second UCF player in the last three years to sign a Generation adidas contract as Sean Johnson was selected for the program in 2010. This year, only seven players nationally have signed Generation adidas contracts.

"We are extremely excited for Deshorn," UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "This is a wonderful opportunity that is only offered to a few players each year. It says a lot about the growth of our program and the dedication by our players, coaches, support staff and administration."

As a junior at UCF this past season, Brown developed into one of the premier strikers in the nation. He totaled 13 goals and three assists for 29 points. Brown ranked fifth nationally in points per game at 1.18 and sixth in goals per game (0.81). A native of Jamaica, he recorded 60 shots, with 28 coming on goal. Following the season, he earned NSCAA All-South Region First Team honors and a spot on the All-Conference USA First Team.

Brown, who began his college career at the University of Mobile, was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week on Oct. 29 after totaling five goals and an assist for 11 points against Memphis and UAB.

Since 2010, UCF has had three MLS SuperDraft selections. A year ago, both Kevan George and Warren Creavalle were picked in the second round.
