ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a week without a game, the UCF men's basketball team will be back in action Friday when it opens the UCF Holiday Tournament against Howard. Tipoff at the UCF Arena is 7 p.m.

Following UCF's contest with the Bison, Belmont will face Boston University at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, the consolation game is 5 p.m., followed by the championship at 7:30 p.m.

UCF Holiday Tournament Schedule
Friday, Dec. 28
Howard at UCF, 7 p.m.
Belmont vs. Boston University, 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 29
Consolation, 5 p.m.
Championship, 7:30 p.m.

UCF (7-3) has won four of its last five games. The Knights last played on Dec. 20 and they rolled to an 83-66 victory over visiting Stetson behind a triple-double from Isaiah Sykes. The junior finished with 16 points, 11 boards and 10 assists to record only the third triple-double in UCF history and the first since 2005.

UCF has enjoyed success this season thanks to its strong shooting. The Knights rank fifth in the country in field goal percentage (51.1) and 11th in 3-point field goal percentage (40.9). Kasey Wilson, who is third on the team in points per game at 11.5, leads the country in shooting from deep. The sophomore has made 62.1 percent of his attempts from 3-point range.

Howard has faced a challenging schedule this year and is 3-10. The Bison have played just four home games and have visited Iowa, Wichita State, Pittsburgh, Oregon State and Rutgers.

Belmont (8-3) is a program familiar to longtime UCF fans as the Bruins competed against the Knights in the Atlantic Sun in the early 2000s. Belmont is now a member of the Ohio Valley after representing the A-Sun in the NCAA Tournament in five of the last seven years. This year, the team already owns impressive wins over Stanford and Middle Tennessee. Boston University is 5-6 in 2012-13.

On Friday, the UCF Arena box office will be open prior to the game. Tickets for the UCF-Howard contest will allow for admission to the Belmont-Boston University game. UCF students are admitted free to all home games with a valid school ID.

Conference USA play is right around the corner and the C-USA Ticket Package offers tickets to all eight home league games starting at the discounted price of just $64. To order, call (407) UCF-1000 or click here.

The game versus Howard will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game in Orlando with Marc Daniels and Taylor Young on the call. Live video and statistics will be available at UCFAthletics.com.
