ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following a pair of nearly flawless offensive performances, Keith Clanton of the UCF men's basketball team was selected as the Conference USA Player of the Week Monday. In leading the Knights to two victories last week, the senior averaged 22.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while making 18-of-21 (85.7 percent) of his shots from the field.

The power forward began the week with an incredible performance against Bethune-Cookman. On his way to a career-high 30 points, Clanton shot 14-of-15 (93.3 percent) overall. The shooting performance was the best nationally by a Division I player since 2008. He also added a game-high 13 rebounds and a team-high four assists.

In a win at Old Dominion, the former Orlando Christian Prep star logged only 25 minutes while battling foul trouble, but still scored 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-10 performance at the line.

Clanton, the C-USA Preseason Player of the Year, is averaging 17.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 2012-13. The league player of the week honor is the fourth of his career and first of the season.

Clanton and the Knights host Miami for a key in-state non-conference contest Tuesday. Tipoff at the UCF Arena is 8 p.m.
