ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A native of Orlando and graduate of Edgewater High School, UCF senior Quincy McDuffie earned a spot on the Sports Illustrated All-America First Team Tuesday. He is the first Knight since KR/PR Joe Burnett in 2008 (Sports Illustrated, ESPN.com) to receive first team All-American status.

-C-USA Special Teams Player of the Year
-All-C-USA First Team
-C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 8 and Oct. 29
-College Football Performance Awards National Kick Returner of the Week Oct. 8 and Oct.29

McDuffie has now been an All-American twice in his career. In 2010, he was named to both the CBS Sports and Rivals.com Second Team thanks to finishing second in the FBS in kickoff returns. That year, McDuffie was the first Knight to be an All-American specifically as a kick returner since Todd Cleveland in 1994 at the FCS level.

The nation's leader in kickoff returns in 2012 (minimum 1.2 returns per game), McDuffie averages 34.24 yards per attempt, which also currently stands as a UCF single-season record, topping his own mark set in 2010 (32.19). The C-USA Special Teams Player of the Year has run back three kickoffs for touchdowns to tie a school record, which is one shy of the C-USA mark set in 2009.

Through the first four games this year, McDuffie had just two returns. But once the C-USA schedule got underway, so did the speedster. Trailing East Carolina 14-0 early on Oct. 4, McDuffie proceeded to run back a 99-yarder to the house to completely shift momentum in the Knights' 40-20 win.

Three games later, McDuffie tied an NCAA record with two kickoff returns for touchdowns when he had attempts of 98 and 97 yards at Marshall to help UCF take down the Thundering Herd, 54-17. That effort also was a C-USA and UCF record for most kickoff returns for touchdowns in a game.

In the C-USA career record book, McDuffie is second with a 27.8 average and six touchdowns, and is sixth with 2,501 yards. At UCF, he ranks first in returns (90), yards and touchdowns.

UCF has now had an All-American or freshman All-American every season since 2007.

McDuffie has one more game in a Black and Gold uniform when he and the Knights face off with Ball State in the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl Friday, Dec. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Petersburg. For ticket information, call (407) UCF-1000 or visit UCFAthletics.com.
