ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team will make its 2012-13 debut Friday when the Knights host Georgia State. The contest at the UCF Arena will begin at 7 p.m.

Season tickets, which start at only $30, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com. The contest against Georgia State is the first of 14 games at the UCF Arena for the Knights this year.

UCF returns four starters from a year ago and is led by seniors Gevenia Carter and Kayli Keough. Keough scored a game-high 15 points last week during the team's exhibition game victory over Lynn. A pair of newcomers - junior-college transfer Sara Djassi and freshman Briahanna Jackson - also shined for UCF in the win. Djassi totaled 14 points and nine boards and Jackson had 11 points and five assists.

Last season, UCF won 10 contests at home. Following the matchup with the Panthers, the Knights will head to Volusia County and play St. John's Sunday afternoon in a future BIG EAST matchup in Daytona Beach at the Ocean Center at 1 p.m. The Red Storm are taking part in the WBI Tip Off Invitational and have a game against Texas prior to facing the Knights.

UCF and Georgia State have met 41 times and the Panthers have a 30-11 edge in the all-time series. Both programs were members of the Atlantic Sun Conference during the 1990s and the early 2000s.

The Panthers went 8-22 a year ago. Georgia State returns nine letterwinners from last season's squad. After facing the Knights, the team will play at Florida Sunday in Gainesville.

Video of the home contest will be available at UCFAthletics.com as part of the All-Access package. Scott Adams will have the call live from courtside. Live statistics will also be available at UCFAthletics.com.

The UCF Arena box office will be open prior to the game. UCF students are admitted free to all home contests with a valid school ID.
