DELAND, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team entered Tuesday's third and final round of the Stetson/CFSC Invitational in fourth place and seven strokes off the lead. But the Knights put together the best round of the day and stormed back to take the team title in the event, which wrapped up the fall season for the squad.

UCF was led by Ricardo Gouveia, who took individual medalist honors for the tournament. Gouveia carded scores of 72-71-71=214 (-2). He edged USC Upstate's Adam Goins and Bethune-Cookman's Leon Fricker, who tied for second, but also tallied three-round totals of 214. Gouveia won the individual title in a playoff.

I am so happy for our team and for Ricardo for finishing the fall season on a high note, UCF head coach Bryce Wallor said. We had a great comeback today and I am very appreciative of how hard our team fought for the win. We had four solid rounds posted today and Ricardo's playoff victory capped off the end to a good performance.

The Knights' final tally was 870, while Florida Gulf Coast was second at 873. Bethune-Cookman took third place with a final score of 878 and USC Upstate was fourth at 880.

In addition to Gouveia's individual title, UCF had three top-10 finishers. Greg Eason was sixth, carding scores of 73-73-70=216 (E). Kyle Wilshire (75-74-71=220 +4) tied for eighth place. Jose Joia and McCabe Buege, each put together three-round totals of 226 to tie for 23rd place.
