ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Remaining all alone in first place in the Conference USA East Division with a 31-24 road win at UTEP Nov. 10, UCF climbed a few more spots in the national polls Sunday. The Knights placed 30th in the Associated Press poll with 16 votes, while they were 32nd in the USA Today Coaches Poll with 18 votes.

Last week, UCF was 33rd and 36th, respectively, in the national rankings. The last time it was in the top 25 was in the final poll of the 2010 campaign when it was ranked 20th in the coaches poll and 21st in the AP poll.

The Black and Gold boasts an 8-2 overall record with a 6-0 mark in C-USA. Its 6-0 start in league play is its best in school history since it joined its first conference (MAC) in 2002. The six-game winning streak also is tied for the second-longest since the program's inception in 1979, trailing only the 2007 streak of seven games.

The Knights have already begun focusing on their upcoming trip to Tulsa Saturday at 12 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Networks. A UCF win (or East Carolina loss at Tulane) will clinch its fourth division title as well as the right to host the 2012 C-USA Championship Game Dec. 1.

Tulsa, however, also stands at 8-2 this year and 6-0 in C-USA, as a Golden Hurricane victory over the Knights (or a SMU loss at Rice) will give them the West Division crown. A win may not guarantee Tulsa the nod to host the C-USA title game since there is one possible situation ECU could stay in the mix to host.

The Golden Hurricane also are receiving votes in the polls, sitting in 38th in the AP poll and 35th in the coaches poll.

It will be the latest that the leaders of both divisions play each other since C-USA went to divisional play in 2005.
