ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF rowing team is set for its only race of the fall season when 14 boats compete at the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Saturday and Sunday.
The regatta is scheduled for an 8:40 a.m. start, but the team's first race is at 12:24 p.m., when the Knights "A" and "B" boats contend during the Women's Championship 8+. At 3:45 p.m., the squad features two boats to race the Women's College and Club Novice 8+. UCF concludes action on Saturday with two more boats competing in the Women's Championship 4+, scheduled for a 5:07 p.m. race time.
On Sunday, the Knights return to the water with the Women's Open 2- which takes off at 11:21 a.m. UCF will race 10 boats in this event.
The Head of the Hooch regatta is currently the second largest in the U.S. with over 9,000 rowers scheduled to participate this year.
This is the only event scheduled for the fall season, as the Knights had two earlier races wiped out due to inclement weather. Weather, however, is not expected to be a factor this weekend as the forecast calls for mild temperatures with sunny skies on Saturday, 72/46°F and overcast on Sunday, 71/47°F
UCF will return in the spring with a full slate of races.
