WINTER PARK, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's tennis' second tournament of the fall was cut short due to inclement weather as the Knights competed in the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational Friday. The event is being hosted by Rollins College in nearby Winter Park.

Four UCF matches were completed during the afternoon, including three victories. In doubles, Jenna Doerfler and Ann-Sophie Porry teamed up for an 8-2 win over Laura Rodriguez and Ancia Ifill of Bethune-Cookman in the Flight B draw.

Over on the singles courts, Doerfler cruised past Nova Southeastern's Alex Johansson, 6-2, 6-2, in Flight A, while Josephine Haraldson wasted little time posting a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Hillsborough CC's Jennifer Fernandez in Flight B.

Action will pick up on day two Saturday, while the tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday. For more information, visit Tournament Information.
