UCF Women's Tennis Embarks on Second Tournament of the Fall

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a total of five Knights were named flight winners at the Knights Invitational Sept. 28-30, the UCF women's tennis team gets back to work at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational Friday-Sunday. Action takes place in Winter Park and is hosted by Rollins College.

Earning victories in doubles last weekend were Genevieve Lorbergs and Josephine Haraldson at Flight A, as well as Courtney Griffith and Sofia Baptista at Flight B. Over in singles, Haraldson (Flight D), Griffith (D), Clare Mendell (D and E) and Caroline Eberhart (E and F) all notched wins as well.

The C.L. Varner Memorial will be the second of four fall events for the Black and Gold this season. They also will compete in the ITA Regional in Tampa Oct. 19-22 and the USF Tournament Nov. 2-4, also in Tampa.

UCF's spring season kicks of Jan. 19-21 with the UCF Invitational, and the dual-match schedule opens Jan. 25 at home vs. Bethune-Cookman.
