ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Junior Deshorn Brown of the UCF men's soccer team picked up a major honor Wednesday when he was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week. The forward earned the award after recording a stellar 11 points in two matches last week.
Brown started the week with a hat trick and an assist in UCF's 4-3 double-overtime win over Memphis, despite sitting out the first half due to injury. He followed that performance with a pair of goals against UAB.
On Monday, the Manchester, Jamaica, native was selected as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week. He leads the conference with 29 points and 13 goals.
Brown and the Knights play at Kentucky Wednesday evening. UCF will conclude the regular season Saturday at Marshall.
