ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - All across the country this fall, participants have taken part in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, which is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. On Saturday, the UCF women's tennis team did its part by joining Orlando's walk at Lake Eola Park.
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer's calls on people of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. The mission is to end Alzheimer's disease, the nation's sixth-leading cause of death, through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
By signing up and participating in Saturday's walk, the Knights helped raise money for the Alzheimer's Association to support essential Alzheimer programs, research and services in the Orlando community.
Back on the tennis courts, UCF will conclude its fall schedule with the Florida State Championships in Tampa Nov. 2-4.
