ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The championship game of the Black & Gold World Series was cancelled Friday due to lingering rain showers from Hurricane Sandy out in Atlantic Ocean. The series finale is now slated for Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. and will now go the full-nine innings to determine the champion.
On Wednesday, Black took a 1-0 lead in the series with four runs in the top of the fifth and held on for the 4-3 victory. In order for Gold to take home the title, it will need to top Black by more than one run on Sunday night.
