LAS VEGAS (UCFAthletics.com) -- Monday was moving day for the UCF women's golf team. The Knights climbed the leaderboard from seventh place after Sunday's first round to the tournament lead by the end of the second round at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.

The Knights improved by 10 strokes from round one to round two, carding a 5-over 293 Monday at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club. UCF is now 20-over for the tournament and holds a two-stroke advantage over Penn State. Indiana is third just three strokes off the pace set by the Knights.

"The girls fought hard today under some tough conditions," head coach Emily Marron said. "The winds were up and the course played difficult. I'm really proud that they all found a way to get the ball in the hole today and finished strong. This course sets up well for us and we proved today there are low scores out there. We are excited about our position, but know we will have to fight hard tomorrow against a competitive field."

Monifa Sealy, Kaitlyn Price and Jessica Schall led the charge Monday. Sealy and Price each tallied scores of 1-under 71 in the second round. Price is now 3-over for the tournament and is tied for fourth place. Sealy is 6-over and tied for 13th. Meanwhile, Schall carded an even-par round of 72 to remain 4-over for the tournament. She sits in a tie for eighth place.

Carolin Pinegger, who shot an even-par 72 in Sunday's first round, was 7-over Monday. She is tied for 16th place. Robyn Doig is also competing for UCF. She is +19 for the tournament.

The Knights will look to hold off the remainder of the 18-team field when the third round begins at 7:30 a.m. MT Tuesday morning.
