ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The Southeast Region will converge on Tampa Friday-Monday for the annual USTA/ITA Regional Championships hosted by South Florida, and the UCF women's tennis team will be in the middle of it all. It will be the third of four events of the fall season for the Knights.
The Black and Gold is coming off a successful trip to Winter Park and the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational. In all, Josephine Haraldson, Caroline Eberhart and Ann-Sophie Porry won singles titles. Over in doubles, Haraldson and Genevieve Lorbergs advanced to the finals of the Flight A draw, while Eberhart and Clare Mendell got to the finals of the Flight B bracket.
For the season, Haraldson and Eberhart are a perfect 6-0 in singles action, and Sofia Baptista also is undefeated at 3-0. The combination of Haraldson and Lorbergs are 5-1 in doubles play to lead the Knights.
After its trip to Tampa, UCF returns to USF for the Florida State Championships Nov. 2-4. It will be the final event before the spring season kicks off in January.
