The UCF women's golf team shot its best round of the tournament Sunday at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Knights put together a third-round score of 303 (+15) Sunday at the UNC Finley Golf Course. That score allowed UCF to improve from 16th place entering the final round to an eventual 15th-place finish. The Knights wrapped up play with a +60 score of 924. The host North Carolina Tar Heels ran away with the team crown, tallying an 8-over par, three-round score of 872.
Robyn Doig (75-79-75) paced the Knights with a three-round total of 229 (+13). She finished in a tie for 47th place. Carolin Pinegger (77-77-78) was tied for 60th place after carding a score of 232 (+16) for the tournament. Paola Robles (78-80-76) and Kaitlyn Price (77-78-79) finished tied for 67th with 18-over scores of 234 for the tournament.
Monifa Sealy (80-82-74-236 +20) also competed for UCF, finishing tied for 77th. Mary Mulcahy (84-78-77-239 +23) represented the Knights, but was playing as an individual. She finished tied for 87th.
The UCF women wrap up the fall portion of their 2012-13 schedule Oct. 21-23 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, hosted by UNLV.
