ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Freshman Anne-Marie Blaney made her first collegiate 6k memorable by breaking the freshman record on the Knights' home course in the annual Black and Gold Invitational.
Blaney led UCF once again with her third-place time of 21:34:98, erasing Jamie Perzanowski's former record last season by nearly a minute. She concluded the regular season as UCF's top finisher in every meet this season and helped guide the Knights to a second-place team finish Friday night.
Freshman Heather Classe came in with a top-20 finish at 16th place with her time of 23:01.60. Sophomore Shelby Blaes crossed the finish line as UCF's third overall finisher in 21st place with a time of 23:25.81.
Jessica Pachay also scored points and narrowly missed her 6k personal best with a time of 23:38.72 for 23rd place. Sophomore Teresa Huff rounded out the Knights' top finishers in 25th place with a time of 23:43.52.
Sophomore Amelia Williams topped her personal best with a time of 24:08.46.
North Florida won the 11-team women's 6k, and Jacksonville's Joane Pierre emerged as the winner with her time of 21:25.60.
The Knights next travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Oct. 29 for the Conference USA Championships.
