UCF Tied For Third After Two Rounds at Northern Intercollegiate

After the second round of its first tournament of the 2012-13 season, the UCF men's golf team is tied for third place. The Knights led by five strokes after the first round. The Knights are taking part in the Northern Intercollegiate, hosted by Northern Illinois, at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.

UCF carded a score of 301 in the first round Saturday and tallied a 312 in the second round, which was completed Sunday morning. The Knights are trailing Indiana by 14 strokes and St. Mary's (Calif.) by six strokes. UCF is tied with Liberty with a total score of 613 after the first two rounds.

Greg Eason paced the Knights in the first two rounds. He opened with a 72 and followed that up with a 77. At 149, he is seven-over par heading into the final round of play.

Michael Visacki currently sits in a tie for 14th with a score of 153 through two rounds, which leaves him 11 over par. Jose Joia is tied for 21st, having carded scores of 75 and 80 (155, +13) Kyle Wilshire recorded tallies of 77 and 79 (156, +14) to round out the scoring for the Knights.

The Northern Intercollegiate, which UCF won in 2011, wraps up Sunday afternoon.
