TEAM NOTES
-UCF falls to 1-1 on the season, while No. 14 Ohio State jumps to 2-0.
-The Knights also dropped to 0-7 in games against Big Ten teams. Saturday marked the first meeting between the two schools.
-It was the first non-conference loss for the Knights vs. a school from an automatically-qualifying BCS conference since 2010 at Kansas State. UCF entered with a two-game winning streak (Georgia in 2010, Boston College in 2011) in such games.
-Attendance at Ohio Stadium was 104,745, marking the most fans to ever watch a UCF game since the program's inception in 1979. The previous record was 103,029 at Penn State on Aug. 31, 2002.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
-Senior captains for the Ohio State game were: wide receiver/quarterback Rob Calabrese and cornerback A.J. Bouye.
-Bouye notched his first interception of the year at the end of the third quarter. It was his fourth of his career, and he now has a pick in each of the last three seasons.
-Meanwhile, Bouye completed the afternoon by tying his career high with seven tackles.
-Sophomore wide receiver Rannell Hall earned his first-career start Saturday.
-With 82 yards, Hall entered UCF's all-time top-10 for kickoff return yards and is now ninth. He entered the game with 714 yards to his name and surpassed Joe Burnett (745) and Doug Gabriel (795).
-Sophomore Storm Johnson started his first-collegiate game, and posted 75 rushing yards on 12 attempts, as well as three catches for 22 yards.
-Sophomore Shawn Moffitt converted on his first field-goal try of the year - a 28-yarder with 12 seconds left in the first quarter.
-Sophomore MLB Terrance Plummer recorded eight tackles in the first quarter alone. His previous career-high for an entire game was seven.
-Plummer finished the game with 15 tackles.
-Sophomore TE Justin Tukes recorded his first-career touchdown reception on a 1-yard catch in the second quarter, which helped tie the game at 10-10.
-Junior DT E.J. Dunston was credited with his first forced fumble of his career when he stripped Zach Boren in the second quarter.
-Senior fullback Billy Giovanetti caught his second touchdown pass as a Knight on a 2-yard reception on fourth down in the third quarter. It was his first TD since 2009.
