ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF cross country team opens its season this Friday when the Knights travel to the USF Invitational in Tampa to take on some of the state's best teams. The Knights will compete alongside 15 other programs, including FIU, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Miami and USF.

All 16 members of UCF's roster will run in the 5K scheduled for 5:40 p.m., and nine Knights will make their collegiate debut. Freshmen Joceline Adona, Anne-Marie Blaney, Heather Classe, Alyssa Hamel, Amy Ankli, Caroline Pauls, Rachel Petrik and twins Akeeba and Ebony Rose will all look to make a statement as a part of the largest team the Knights have fielded since 2006.

Team champions and the top-20 individual finishers will be recognized in an awards ceremony following the men's 8K race.
