ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the sixth-consecutive week, the UCF women's soccer team (7-2-1, 1-1 Conference USA) was named among the nation's top-10 teams in the country on Tuesday. The Knights are ranked No. 10 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Continental Tire Poll.
Regionally, the Knights are atop of the NSCAA Central Region, claiming the No. 1 spot for the first time since 2009. C-USA rival Memphis checks in at No. 7 while East Carolina and Rice are both receiving votes in the regional poll.
UCF is the second-highest ranked program in the state of Florida as Florida State sits at No. 1.
The first NCAA RPI standings were also revealed Tuesday, and the Knights are currently ranked among the top 20 at No. 15. The only other Florida program rated better than UCF is the Seminoles at No. 5.
As a team, the Knights rank among the top-10 percent in the country for scoring offense (No. 35; 2.3 gpg) and goals-against average (No. 35; .673). Individually, Nicolette Radovcic ranks 20th for total goals (8) and 24th for goals per game (0.8) and game-winning goals (3).
UCF begins a four-match homestand Friday when it faces Houston at 7 p.m. The Knights also host Rice on Sunday at 1 p.m.
