Henriques Advances in Eurpoean Tour Qualifying

Former UCF golfer Nuno Henriques has advanced to the Second Qualifying Stage for the European Tour.

Henriques was one of 184 golfers who took part in a First Qualfying Stage event Tuesday through Friday at Golf and Country Club Fleesensee - a European Tour Course - and Wychwood Park. The leading 24 players and ties from the German venue near Berlin progressed through to the Second Stage. Henriques tied for 19th place and finished the four-round event 5-under par.

A spectacular fourth round kept Henriques alive in the qualifying. The qualifying mark for to advance was 4-under par. Henriques entered the final round at 2-under. But he shot a three-under 69 on Friday to move into a qualifying position. He recorded five birdies and two bogeys in the final round, including four birdies on the back nine.

The Second Qualifying Stage will take place across four venues in Spain - Campo de Golf El Saler, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, El Valle Golf Resort and Lumine Golf & Beach Club - from November 7-10. Approximately 310 players will line up at those four venues, with about 80 progressing through to the Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort - also a European Tour Course - from November 24-29.
