ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 6 UCF women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five games by capping off its non-conference season with a 3-1 win over North Florida on Friday night in the first meeting between the two teams.

With the victory, UCF improved its record to 6-1-1 while holding North Florida (2-6-1) winless through the month of September.

Although the Knights kept possession for most of the first half, UCF did not record a shot on goal until nearly 10 minutes remained before the break. That shot ended up being worth the wait as sophomore Tyler Law connected with senior Bianca Joswiak, who buried the ball into the back right corner of the net. The assist was the first of Law's career while the goal was the first of the season for Joswiak.

UCF got quality minutes from its bench in the first half as Katy Ling nearly scored less than four minutes later when her attempt was bobbled by UNF goalkeeper Rachel Beninati. Freshman reserve Taylor Townsend closed out the half with another near-score when she received a through-ball from Ling inside the box, but her attempt was also saved.

UCF freshman keeper Connie Organ subbed in the second half of action for Lianne Maldonado and misjudged the Ospreys' attack in the 68th minute. Lauren Hopfensperger was able to score her first goal of the season to knot the game at 1-1 despite Organ's attempt to knock the ball over the crossbar.

The Knights didn't take long to respond when senior Nicolette Radovcic scored 47 seconds later for her fifth goal of the season. Townsend won the ball in a scrum with North Florida's centerback defender and was able to flick it to Radovcic for her third game-winner of the year.

Radovcic returned the favor to Townsend in the 72nd minute when Sophie Howard played a ball down the line to Radovcic. Radovcic crossed the ball to Townsend, and the freshman netted her second goal of the year to cap the 3-1 win.

Up next, the Knights open conference play Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern at Memphis, who was selected as the favorite in the preseason poll.
